It is with much excitement that I announce the upcoming release of my new solo album on New Amsterdam Records, of minutiae and memory, featuring eight electro-acoustic works for cello, voice, and electronics by some of today's most talented young composers. It's the culmination of an ongoing commissioning project over the past six years, resulting in close to 30 new works for voice, cello, and electronics. The disc features works by Joshua Penman, Anna Clyne, Paula Matthusen, Wil Smith, Missy Mazzoli, Ryan Brown, Stefan Weisman, and Derek Muro.
The album is released by New Amsterdam Records with nation-wide distribution by Naxos, and is available as physical copies from amazon.com and downloads from iTunes.com.

Jody Redhage & Fire in July released their debut album on September 15, 2009. A collection of 14 of Redhage's original compositions for the chamber ensemble/band, "Ancient Star" was produced by mastermind musician Ben Wittman and features Redhage on voice & cello, Ken Thomson on clarinet & bass clarinet, Alan Ferber on trombone, Tim Collins on vibraphone, Dan Tepfer on piano, and Fred Kennedy on drums/percussion. The album's lyrics range from poems by Wiliams Carlos Williams to original texts by Jody's sister, San Francisco-based writer Jill Redhage.

Alan Ferber Nonet
Renowned trombonist, composer, & arranger Alan Ferber has written for his own Nonet since 2002, and released his third CD as bandleader of this group in May 2010 on Sunnyside Records. "Chamber Songs" features his 9-piece jazz group augmented by a 10 piece string section (in which I play!) and received a four star review in Downbeat. I want to congratulate my muse on his great accomplishment!
